BHYF will be participating in the first National Sewa Day which is to happen on Sunday 21st November 2010. This is a social action initiative being co-ordinated around the UK and involves community groups like ours ..."to take the responsibility for overcoming the challenges of disadvantages and deprivation by harnessing resources and talents that exist within them..." It is being co-ordinated by SEWA UK. SEWA UK is a secular, non-political UK registered charity.

"...On 21st November 2010 the first national sewa day will be held. Events are being organised
by participating organisations up and down the country to allow the the community a chance to come together on one day and make a difference through volunteering.
The aim of National Sewa Day is to provide people a chance to give back to the community through volunteering on a single day to make a difference. Each event that is being organised is based on at least one of the following principles:-
1) To relieve hardship and poverty
2) To bring a little joy where non exists
3) To help the environment
All the events organised will take place on the same day (21st November 2010) and will not have any fundraising as this is an opportunity to give back to the community by giving up something as valuable - our time. From infants through to pensioners anyone can get involved and make a difference.
National Sewa Day is an unprecedented collaboration between organisations and individuals in the community to come together on one day and make a difference in their local communities..."
BHYF have decided to feed homeless people in Bristol and are co-ordinating this at our end. If you would like to be involved, please e-mail us on bristolhinduyouthforum@hotmail.co.uk

Nice to see so many followers
Hi!
It's been a while since we've had a new blog on our site. Since the last time, more of you have started following our blog, and that's very encouraging!
Did you attend the Chowki Dhani event? Do you have any photos you don't mind giving for our blog? Most of all, do you have any feed back from the event for us? We'd like to hear from you.
Lots more coming up, more news soon.
